On December 27th, the "Fourth Cailian Press Corporate ESG Forum and ESG Impact Top 50 Forum," organized by Cailian Press and the All-China Environment Federation, was ceremonially convened in Beijing with nationwide notable figures from the political, business, and academic sectors. The purpose was to deliberate on ESG topics, share viable solutions, and exchange practical experiences while collectively exploring the trajectory of high-quality and sustainable development for Chinese enterprises.
The forum boasted a comprehensive agenda, featuring opening addresses, guest presentations, and roundtable discussions. In addition, a prestigious "Far-reaching Awards" ceremony took place to acknowledge enterprises that exhibited significant business and social value impact in the ESG domain throughout 2023. These recognized companies played a pivotal role in adding ESG momentum to advance sustainable development. Notably, INTCO Recycling, leveraging over two decades of profound expertise in resource regeneration, received the esteemed "Environmentally Friendly Pioneer Enterprise Award." Similarly, INTCO Medical was honored with the "Social Responsibility Pioneer Enterprise Award" for its outstanding performance in the ESG sector.
It is noteworthy that the trophy for this event was meticulously crafted by INTCO Recycling. Infused with the ethos of 'environmental protection' and a commitment to 'low-carbon' practices, the trophy is skillfully fashioned from recycled and renewable plastics. Aptly named "The Book of Regeneration," the design eloquently embodies both the theme of low-carbon environmentalism and a sense of humanistic care. This thoughtful design not only optimizes the cost-effectiveness of materials but also facilitates easy recycling and reutilization. Simultaneously, it serves as a call to action for increased awareness of environmental protection. It's worth noting that the trophy's design and concept garnered unanimous acclaim from both attending guests and participating enterprises.
The ESG philosophy has been seamlessly integrated into INTCO Recycling's long-term sustainable development strategy. Since its inception, the company has consistently upheld the "ESG" philosophy through continuous action. With a focus on its core businesses of recycling, regeneration, and utilization, INTCO actively embodies the values of "love, goodness, and truth," collaborating with stakeholders to create sustained value for society. Presently, INTCO Recycling has the capacity to annually recycle and reuse approximately 150,000 tons of plastic, contributing to a global reduction of 300,000 tons of carbon emissions, saving 450,000 tons of crude oil resources, and preventing the felling of about 2 million trees each year. Since its establishment, the company has cumulatively reduced around 2.5 million tons of carbon emissions, saved approximately 3.75 million tons of crude oil resources, and prevented the felling of about 25 million trees.
Building upon the company's outstanding performance in the ESG domain, INTCO has garnered noteworthy distinctions. It has secured a S&P Global ESG Score that surpasses 91% of peers in the industry, achieved inclusion in the Bloomberg ESG Score, and received commendation from the CAPCO for ESG Best and Outstanding Practices. INTCO has also attained the Wind ESG Grade A and prestigious accolades, including the esteemed "Golden Bull Innovation Award" from China Securities Journal, the Gold-level Global Zero Carbon City Practice Pioneer Award, and recognition in Bloomberg's Green Gold ESG 50 Annual Focus Projects.
